A Brief History
From Centre East to the North Shore Center
The North Shore Center for the Performing Arts opened its doors in 1996, built on the foundation of Centre East, a pioneering arts organization that began bringing professional performances to the region in 1979. Today, the Center continues that legacy as a home for music, theater, dance, comedy, family programming, and community events on Chicago’s North Shore.
