The Opera Festival of Chicago returns with its sixth season of unforgettable events. Adriana Lecouvreur is a high-drama verismo masterpiece that blends historical 18th century French theater with a fictional tale of love and lethal jealousy. The story follows a celebrated actress who is ensnared in a tragic love triangle with a noble soldier and a vengeful princess, ultimately meeting a tragic end by inhaling the scent of a poisoned bouquet of violets. This fully staged productions is accompanied by the Opera Festival of Chicago Orchestra.
