In addition to the resident companies, the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie is proud to play host to a variety of performing arts events.

Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra
Alan Heatherington, Music Director
An orchestra of uncommon quality in the tradition of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Filled with musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Ars Viva is unique on the North Shore. Music Director Alan Heatherington, named Conductor of the Year 2005, engages the audience from the stage with informative and often humorous comments about the music and the composers. Ars Viva is growing rapidly and now includes 5 concerts series with performances on Sunday and Monday.

June Dance Recitals
Throughout the month of June, the North Shore Center becomes a center for dance when local dance academies present their season-ending recitals for students' family and friends.
